We have a 9-seat kitchen pass. To secure your spot with the chefs, please let us know via the booking form.
We hold your table for 15 minutes past your reservation time. If you are running late, please give us a call. If you have somewhere to be after your reservation, let us know so we can help with getting you on your way.
Our bar is open from 4:30pm Wednesday to Saturday.

A New Chapter
Plenty of great things are happening at Shepherd so we thought it would be a great time to start telling you about them here! This regular piece will keep you up to date with events, new menus, our crew and our overall journey.
As some of you might have seen we have decided to expand our Sunday offering to an all day menu. We are really excited about this as it gives us a chance to share the Shepherd love and serve oysters for breakfast! Some of our classics will still be available along side some exciting new offerings. Rumour has it that the limited Goldburger cheeseburgers will make the occasional appearance as a special, perfect for that dusty Sunday recovery plan. Let Shepherd and the team finish off your weekend with fun and food.

This week in Auckland the 2018 Cuisine Awards were held at the Civic Theatre and New Zealand’s best of the best were celebrated. For the first time Shepherd was awarded one Hat and we are thrilled about it. It’s an achievement we’re sure to be celebrating for a while! Wellington restaurants in particular had a terrific night with many prestigious awards and Hats handed out. We are incredibly proud to be amongst some very fine company, Check out the winners here and congratulations to everyone!
We’re entering the New Year with a huge energy and heaps of fun plans. 2019 is the year for collabs!

We had such a great time with our friends at Viva Mexico for our annual Day of the Dead laneway festival that we’re teaming up again on February 19th for a one-off event filled with delicious collaborative food and a spicy drinks list including delicious beers from HeyDay, Choice Bros and Maiden Brewing. Tickets are available here and limited spaces are available so get in quick!

Black Sheep: A Cult Gathering At Shepherd
The Cult Project are most well known for their low waste ethos and their one of a kind pop ups that have been held nationwide.
This June 24 co-founder and chef Carlo Buenaventura will take this chance to continue showcasing more of what it’s like to be a Filipino cooking in New Zealand. Using his cultural background, food memories and his recent exploration of the Negros region in the Philippines, Carlo together with the team at Shepherd will curate a menu that takes influence from "Negrense" cuisine while mixing in more contemporary inspiration from New Zealand's seasons and surroundings.
Carlo will bring his fresh take on a Filipino sharing style of dining. The dinner will be a 3 course sharing menu containing snacks & dishes best shared by a group of four or more.
Richard Klein of Artigiano imports who's a friend to both and a true Wellingtonian will be providing all the wines for the evening. Think biodynamic, eco farming principles and low intervention. Pouring 3 wine matches that will compliment the set of dishes for each course.
Tickets are $95 pp which includes the 3 wine pours for the evening. So gather your family and/or friends and let us take you to a food journey and explore some new flavours to create new food memories by.
